MUZEMAKERS V.O.F. is a collaboration between Anneke Rot and Laurens van der Zee. We create music, write lyrics, develop ideas, and facilitate artistic and other gatherings. Additionally, we offer Reconnective Healing.

Music

Anneke Rot and Laurens van der Zee form “An/Lau,” a duo specializing in serene background music as well as lively tunes and sing-alongs at receptions, weddings, and other celebrations. Our musical repertoire includes styles such as old Dutch, Dutch sing-alongs, Klezmer, French musettes, Italian, Irish, and various world music genres. We create customized music for funerals and cremations. Additionally, we provide ad hoc accompaniment for singing groups and family choirs during festive occasions. We also perform solo and participate in other musical groups, such as Trio Behang, featuring country, blues, and old-style jazz. As members of Folkcorn, we contribute to historical Dutch folk music.

Muzemakers can come up with ideas to make your event extra special. Whether it’s about promotion, connecting with other musicians, advice for parties, or adding musical and poetic elements to gatherings – we’ve got you covered. Our educational theater “Dealing with Each Other” offers a fresh perspective on interpersonal relationships in healthcare settings, suitable for volunteers and professionals alike. At Muzemakers, we craft memorable experiences with a focus on music, poetry, and education.

Anneke Rot

Anneke Rot plays accordion, piano, guitar, drums, and percussion, and she sings. She provides background music for receptions and other gatherings, and she plays and coordinates sing-along sessions featuring Dutch songs from the past and sentimental tunes. Anneke specializes in working with the elderly. She presents the highly requested one-woman show “Pruttelkoffie met Krentenmik,” featuring songs and monologues that evoke memories, specifically tailored for seniors. Furthermore, Anneke serves as a storyteller and musician in the show “Sarina en Sarina,” which incorporates Balinese dance, monologues, and songs about old Dutch Indonesia, with the collaboration of dancers from the “Sinar Bulan” dance group. Anneke is also available as a substitute conductor for amateur choirs.

Laurens van der Zee

Laurens van der Zee is a musician with skills in recorders, bass guitar, vocals, percussion, and found objects. He performs solo flute improvisations during meditations and at the openings of exhibitions. Additionally, he is part of the Bluestrio with the song “Working on the railroad for a dollar a day” and contributes to the Impro-Explo ensemble Rivelli, where avant-garde visual and sound improvisations take place.

Dodge or Volvo

For a special stage or setting, a photogenic vintage truck is available – a 1942 Dodge pickup – along with a beautiful dark blue 1968 Volvo Amazon.

Mini barrel organ

Our portable mini barrel organ, functioning with cassettes, can be used to create a delightful atmosphere with traditional Dutch barrel organ music as background. It operates on both battery and mains power.
